About the Carolina Sauce Company, Inc.: The Carolina Sauce Company was founded in 2003 by Greg Leman and his wife, Gloria Cabada-Leman. Our mission is to put an end to boring food by offering the best zesty, full-flavored and fiery products from North Carolina and around the world, at a fair price and with attentive customer service.
At Carolina Sauce, we take pride in providing a pleasant, easy and secure online shopping experience with a personal touch and down-home hospitality. Our website and all of the products we offer are family-friendly, and we welcome your feedback, comments and suggestions. Although we don’t have a walk-in retail store that you can visit in person, please feel free to contact us by email, phone or US Mail. Since we are a small family-run business, the best way to reach us is by email because we may not always have someone available to answer the phone (all hands are often busy packing orders). But we do reply to all emails and return all phone calls as soon as we can.

Security and Privacy: In addition to the security and protection provided by being part of the Yahoo! Store system, Carolina Sauce Company uses a secure server with industry-standard encryption technology and firewalls, as well as other appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to protect information received from our customers against unauthorized use or disclosure. Our website and store are protected by McAfee Secure, which also provides ongoing monitoring against system attacks and vulnerabilities. Additionally, all credit card numbers are routinely purged from our online order processing system after 30 days. In short, we make sure that your information is handled with the highest level of security and concern for your privacy.
Carolina Sauce Company values your privacy, and we do NOT sell, share or give out your email, phone number or other personal information. We ONLY use your email and/or phone number to update you on the status of your order, e.g., to send you the UPS tracking number for the package, or ask for missing address information, or contact you if there is a problem with your order. We do NOT send spam or junk mail. The Carolina Sauce Company Store site is hosted by Yahoo! Store. Yahoo! hosts the store pages, ordering system, and order data. Yahoo! automatically collects order information but may only use this information in the aggregate. If you accessed this store through Yahoo! Shopping, Yahoo! also automatically collects information about your shopping experience. Please see the Yahoo! Privacy Policy for more information about how Yahoo! uses this information.
Catalog: At this time we do not have a print catalog, because we are constantly updating and adding to our product offerings. However, we do list all of our products online.
Retail Store, Where To Buy Products: Carolina Sauce Company does not operate a retail store that customers can visit. We also do not have any information on where the products we carry might also be sold. We are merely an online store, not a manufacturer or distributor to grocery stores, so we have nothing to do with where manufacturers might also place their products for sale. If you are in or near Durham, NC and would like to make arrangements to pick up an order so as to not have to pay for shipping, please email us at least 24 hours before your desired pickup date (M-F only). Please include the name and quantity of each product you would like to order, and one of our representatives will contact you to set up an appointment.
Payment: Our online order form accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card and PayPal. If you order by phone or fax, we can accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover Card. If you email or call in an order to be picked up by appointment at our Durham, NC warehouse, we can accept cash (exact change please, as we don't keep money on the premises), or NC check made payable to Carolina Sauce Company, Inc. Sales tax is charged for orders picked up at our warehouse or shipped to North Carolina addresses.
Gift Orders: If the name of the person the order is being shipped to is *different* than the name of the person the order is being billed to, we will assume the order is a gift and we will *not* include an invoice in the box. You can include a Gift Message for FREE with any order - simply fill in your message in the "Gift Message" section of the online order form, and don't forget to "sign" your name unless you're sure the recipient will know who the gift is from. We are happy to gift-wrap any order for $5 per order.
Shipping Information: Generally, all in-stock orders received by 12 noon Eastern Time on a business day (M-F excluding holidays) are shipped the same day or within 24 hours (the following business day). Orders cannot be shipped on Saturdays, Sundays or national holidays. Occasionally, a product may be temporarily unavailable, in which case we will contact you to give you the option to substitute a different product or to modify your order. Around Christmastime and other holidays, please check our Carolina Sauce Company home page for important information regarding holiday hours and deliveries.
Shipping Within the USA (excluding AK and HI): We offer shipping via UPS (Ground, 3-Day Select where available, 2nd Day Air, Next Day Air Saver where available, and Next Day Air), as well as USPS Parcel Post. Unless you need expedited shipping, UPS Ground is usually the cheapest and most reliable shipping method. For shipping addresses in NC, UPS Ground delivers the next day at the regular low Ground rate, and is the only UPS service available. ***Please Note: UPS will not deliver to a PO Box, or to APO/FPO addresses.***
Shipping to APO/FPO Addresses: We are honored to be able to ship to our brave servicemen and servicewomen stationed abroad, and we use the US Postal Service to ship to APO/FPO addresses. As a military courtesy, we do not charge any handling fee for orders shipping to APO or FPO addresses. ***Please Note: If you enter an APO or FPO shipping address, the online order form almost always shows an incorrect shipping amount, or may default to $0 or $2 or $12. Accordingly, BEFORE we charge your credit card or PayPal account, we will manually calculate the actual shipping costs for the available options, and we will email that information to you so that you may select how you wish to have your order shipped. Please reply to this email, as we will not be able to ship the order until we hear back from you.***
Shipping to Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and US Territories: The shipping options are UPS Standard to Canada, and USPS International Priority and International Express. All duties and fees that may be charged by customs or other international entities are the sole responsibility of the recipient of the order, and we cannot calculate or collect any such payments. For shipments to AK, HI, Puerto Rico, and US territories, we ship via US Postal Service. ***Please Note: If you enter a shipping address in Canada, AK, HI, Puerto Rico or a US Territory, the online order form almost always shows an incorrect shipping amount, or may default to $0 or $2 or $12. Accordingly, BEFORE we charge your credit card or PayPal account, we will manually calculate the actual shipping costs for the available options, and we will email that information to you so that you may select how you wish to have your order shipped. Please reply to this email, as we will not be able to ship the order until we hear back from you.***
Other International Shipments: At this time, we regret that we are unable to ship to addresses outside of the USA and Canada.
Shipping Costs: We charge the actual cost that UPS or USPS charges us, plus only $1.75 in handling per order (not per item) to help cover the costs associated with packing and shipping heavy, fragile products. UPS charges are determined by the weight of the package, the package dimensions, the distance traveled from our location in Durham, NC, and fuel surcharges to certain addresses. UPS rates will fluctuate based on the current price of fuel, and our website receives real-time updates from UPS to ensure that you are being charged the correct amount for shipping. It has been our experience that, unless a package weighs less than 2 pounds, UPS is cheaper, faster and more reliable than the US Postal Service for shipping fragile, heavy items like most of our products. ***Please Note: Because UPS and USPS round up weights to the next pound, the shipping cost for just 1 or 2 items will be relatively high compared to the cost of the items. However, as you add more items to your order, the incremental cost of shipping becomes relatively lower per item. In short, you save money by ordering more items instead of just 1 or 2 items. Also, if you order only very light items -- e.g., mini-bottles, Dry Rubs in plastic bottles or cardboard packaging -– the online order form will often over-estimate the actual shipping costs. Accordingly, BEFORE we charge your credit card or PayPal Account, we will manually verify the actual shipping costs and will charge you the lesser amount. We will also check if it might be cheaper to ship using a different method, and will contact you for authorization if we find a cheaper way to ship to you.***
Shipping Address Verification: Please make sure you enter the complete and correct shipping address. If the UPS shipping software cannot verify your address when we are processing your order, we will contact you by email or phone to obtain the missing or correct information. We will not be able to ship your order until we can verify that the shipping address is correct and complete. ***Please be aware that UPS charges us an additional $8 to $10 per package shipped to an incomplete or incorrect address, i.e., missing or wrong Apt., Ste., Unit #, Business name if applicable, etc. Please make sure the Shipping Address you enter online is CORRECT and COMPLETE. If UPS assesses us a fee for an incorrect or incomplete Shipping Address that was not our error, we reserve the right to charge the assessed fee to you.***
Shipping Materials: All orders are carefully and attentively hand-wrapped with bubble wrap and packed in cushioning materials to reduce the risk of breakage in transit. Please do not be offended if your order arrives in a re-used box or if shredded newspaper is used for cushioning – we recycle and re-use boxes, newspapers, “incoming” packing peanuts and other packing materials for two reasons. First, it helps us keep our prices as low as possible because we’re not spending money printing fancy boxes or buying packing materials. Second, by re-using sturdy boxes and cushioning materials, we help reduce the amount of waste going to landfills and polluting our environment.
Breakage: If despite our best efforts you receive a broken item, please email us as soon as possible to report and describe the damage, so that we may file a claim with the carrier and either ship a replacement to you or issue a refund. Please do not throw out the shipping box and materials as UPS may need to inspect them. As soon as UPS informs us that inspection is unnecessary (usually within 24 to 48 hours of starting a claim), we will notify you so that you may discard the materials.
Returns and Refunds: You may return any item for a refund or exchange by contacting us to request a Refund/Exchange Number within 14 days of receipt of your order. Refunds or exchanges will be granted, less shipping & handling charges (unless we have made a shipping error), upon return of unopened and undamaged items only, and the customer is responsible for return shipping costs (unless we have made a shipping error).
